ScanTrac Side View: Solo Plus

Overview

The ScanTrac Solo Plus is a larger version of the ScanTrac Solo and is built on InspX’s side view inspection platform that is optimized for rigid container applications. The Solo Plus offers a very high level of inspection performance in an easy to install and maintain package. The Solo Plus fits over your existing conveyor line and its small footprint ensures that it will fit without major re-engineering to your line. Furthermore, the Solo Plus is designed for extremely high speed applications with conveyor speeds up to 700 linear feet per minute.

Supported Inspection Applications:

  • Large Plastic Containers
  • Large Boxes
  • 1-Gallon Jugs

How The Solo/Solo Plus Work

The ScanTrac Solo and Solo Plus use the InspX side view inspection architecture. This architecture leverages a high performance ceramic X-Ray tube that passes horizontally through the product being inspected. In other words, in a side view system the X-Ray beam does not pass through the conveyor. The primary benefit of this approach is that the height of the container does not degrade the inspection process.

The ceramic tube offers the leading combination of long life, high power and high resolution. Finally, our advanced inspection algorithms provide ease of use and superior inspection performance.

Key Machine Features

  • Ease of Installation and Small Footprint
By mounting over existing conveyors up to 8 inches (20 cm) wide, the cost and space required to install are both minimized. The small footprint created by the ScanTrac Main Unit allows installation in many restricted locations.

  • Remote Diagnostics
InspX can address over 90% of machine problems using its advanced remote diagnostics tools, which means that service costs and machine downtime is minimized.

  • Accuracy at High Speeds
The ScanTrac Inspection System set new standards for speed and accuracy by performing multiple high-resolution inspections on packages while detecting a wide range of contaminants or foreign objects in packaged foods and beverages including metal occlusions, shards of glass, stones, bone, rubber, and even low-contrast images such as plastics in powders without compromise at conveyor speeds of up to 700 fpm (feet per minute).

  • Simultaneous Inspections
ScanTrac Systems can detect contaminants, components, and voids while simultaneously determining density, fill level, and fill volume.

  • Versatility
ScanTrac Systems feature adjustable X-Ray energy levels, expandable digital arrays, proprietary algorithms, and real-time imaging that can be configured for a broad range of applications.

  • Targeted Rejection
Out-of-conformance (damaged, dented or upside down containers) and contaminated containers are identified and diverted or rejected down-stream.

  • Intuitive User-Friendliness
Rugged and Easy-to-use ScanTrac's Intuitive Systems feature multiple product memories, on-line diagnostics, auto-calibration, step-by-step set-up menu, and remote monitoring for unmatched ease of installation, set-up, and operation. Relatively inexperienced personnel achieve optimal inspections with minimal training.

  • Communications Options
Operational status can be monitored locally and remotely through high speed Internet connection for continuous support.

  • Remote Operator Console
A Remote Console Option is available for the ScanTrac Solo. It allows convenient access up to 20 feet (6 meters) from the x-ray system and conveyor.

  • Operator Display
Full Color Operator Display Console allows bright display of menu options and enhances easy to use operation. Images display continuously and reject images can be retrieved.

  • NEMA4 / IP65 Enclosure
Compact Design allows operation in washdown area and within existing packaging lines.
