Ejection and Diversion

Removal of product and containers from the production line can be triggered by various inspection flags such as foreign material, fill levels, closure integrity – or requirements for container sampling.

Important considerations when determining the most appropriate ejection and diversion solutions include:

  1. LINE SPEED
  2. CONTAINER WEIGHT
  3. CONTAINER MATERIAL – ALUMINUM, PET, GLASS, ETC.
  4. CONTAINER SIZE
  5. CONTAINER SHAPE

A wide range of mechanisms can be employed to effect the proper diversion.  Peco InspX frequently employs the following, depending on application:

Push Ejectors

Lift and Drop Gates

Air Blast Ejectors

Sampling

Swing Arm Diverters

Bullnose Conveyors

Solutions are not limited to single containers or products.  Specialized diverters can accommodate multi-lane applications as well as full case inspection.  Additionally, multiple ejection and diversion solutions may be employed after a single inspection to treat disparate inspection outcomes differently – such as ejecting foreign material and diverting containers with missing caps.

Diversion solutions also facilitate automated in-line sampling of product without line stoppage or manual interruption.
